Company Eclipse IBS was established in April 1997. It concentrates on all the services connected with the implementation of the primary information system Microsoft Dynamics - AX and it supports the operation of the information system MBS XAL. All the employees have a lot of experience of the implementation of information systems. The project leaders are in possession of certificates awarded by HEWLETT – PACKARD.

Starting Situation
The management of the company decided to unite the business processes in all the companies of its group by means of a new information system.
Solution
The company .A.S.A. Czech Republic migrated successfully from the information system MBS XAL (called IS Concorde in the past) to the system Microsoft Dynamics - AX. .A.S.A. Hungary implemented successfully the system Microsoft Dynamics - AX and the migration from MBS XAL to Microsoft Dynamics - AX was fulfilled at the beginning of 2006. The unification of information system of all the members of the group will go on.

The company .A.S.A. Czech Republic migrated successfully from the information system MBS XAL (called IS Concorde in the past) to the system Microsoft Dynamics - AX. .A.S.A. Hungary implemented successfully the system Microsoft Dynamics - AX and the migration from MBS XAL to Microsoft Dynamics - AX was fulfilled at the beginning of 2006. The unification of information system of all the members of the group will go on.

The company .A.S.A. Czech Republic is managed centrally and homogeneously.The .A.S.A has to use a system, which is flexible, because the quick development of the company brings new demands and the integration of all the business processes is also necessary. .A.S.A. Czech Republic used MBS XAL till 1999. In that time, company carried out the standardization of all the company processes (ISO 9001, ISO 14 001, OHLAS 18 001) and implemented their support into IS. MBS XAL was an overall IS of the company and it minimized the need of other applications.The good experience with the MBS XAL was the reason for the supplier Eclipse IBS to provide a perfect migration to the system Microsoft Dynamics - AX.
Business Targets
The company .A.S.A. decided to unite the IS of the company by means of the system Microsoft Dynamics - AX because there were expansion plans connected with the membership of the Czech Republic in the EU and because the business policy of Microsoft Czech Republic was helpful. The main tasks of the project were:
- The protection of the current and future investment by a reliable partner and by a top product.
- Microsoft Dynamics - AX must enable the diversification of the services for the customers.
- The implementation must be possible in all of the countries of the group – the target is the unification.
- Effective costs solution for the development and operation of the IS in an international way.
- Maximum use of the synergy effects of the future development of Microsoft Dynamics - AX and the other products of Microsoft.
- Advantage of the supplier’s knowledge of the company processes – which brings time and financial effects.
- High level of the support of the business processes ane their development according to the customer’s demands.
- Effective IS as a competitive advantage.
Solution
The management of the company has chosen the information system Microsoft Dynamics - AX as a logical continuation of its positive experience with the use of the system MBS XAL. The unification of all the IS in all the countries of the group is a strategic task for the company. The unified system makes a better use of company resources in the international way possible. The group can have a better knowledge of the situation in its own companies.
Microsoft Dynamics - AX is used by 258 users in the Czech Republic – fifteen times in financial sphere, 110-times in business and services and 60-times in work management etc. In October 2005, 110 users are connected to the system at the same time every day, 75 users use the thin client of three-layers architecture and 35 users use the two-layers architecture. Remote users access two independent servers with SW Citrix Metaframe using the platform Microsoft Windows Server 2000. Citrix Metaframe has a positive influence on the life of the final PC. Final PCs are machines from Pentium II. to Pentium IV.We prepare the grafic terminals for the decrease of TCO. The company uses the private net WAN with the IP Enable Frame Relay. All the remote users are supported by the workers of HelpDesk via the service of the system Metaframe, which enables the operation of the remote station.
The system processes approximately sixty thousand operations every month. Most of the processes are automatic – the transaction is processed immediately when it is in the system – this means: in the real time, independently on the position or dislocation of the processed transaction. The access to the information is strictly selective – it depends on the position of the employee in the company. There are a lot of another advantages. The logistic part is programmed according to the specific demands of the company - approximately 60% of the system. The most processes are integrated into Microsoft Dynamics - AX. The only exception is the SW for the HRM – the company uses SW Nugget. This SW is implemented in the Czech Republic and in the Slovac Republic.
Microsoft Dynamics - AX was also implemented in .A.S.A. Hungary in 2005. The construction of IS is similar to the system in the Czech Republic. The number of users: 40, three-layers architecture. The server uses the platform Microsoft Windows Server 2003. The remote administration of the data centrum is made from the Czech Republic via VPN.

The migration had no negative influence on the financial flow of the company and did not disturb any business activity of the company. The migration was made in a very short period of time, including the training of the users.The good cooperation of the company Eclipse IBS, the key-account manager and the product manager of the company Microsoft Czech Republic was a big advantage for the project configuration. Thanks to this cooperation we reached optimal business and technical solutions just in the preparatory phase of the project.
